Link between anxiety and depression

Two Separate Conditions

Similar Symptoms for Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression are common to each other according to the symptoms they share. Anxiety patients do not like company, and they get frustrated, angry, distracted and upset very soon.

Depression also share many of the similar symptoms as anxiety’s. During depression people get frustrated, angry and so isolate themselves; being depressed doesn’t only mean that you get sad. Patients then come to a conclusion that they are suffering from both anxiety and depression, when they are only facing the similar set of symptoms overlapping each other.

Anxiety Leads to Depression

When a person is overly anxious for an extended period of time, this is damaging to them mentally, physically and emotionally. The body is not designed to be at a heightened state of emergency for days or even hours on end.

When a person is suffering of anxiety then it often leads them to suffer from depression as well. They are too stressed and so the body is unable to handle it, and so they direct towards depression.

If a person is anxious over the outer factors then they do end up feeling depressed. Many problems like family problems, financial crisis, job loss, a divorce or death of someone close to you; that cause anxiety often lead a person to become depressed. Even moving over to a new area causes anxiety and can follow up to depression. The patient has both anxiety and depression due to the outer factors. This is the way in which these two terms are interlaced.

Dealing with both anxiety and depression is a very difficult set of circumstances for anyone, and even for the family of the sufferer.
